9:00 am Arrival - Coffee available  (There is plenty of free parking)

10:00 am "Welcome and Opening Remarks"

10:30am "Exit from Siberia" - Jim Model, K9PPY
Remember all those Asiatic Russians we used to work on 20 meters in the evenings? Then they were gone! Jim will show a fascinating video of the quick exit from Siberia when it was announced that fuel for heating would no longer be available.

11:00am "A Geography Lesson - Places That Were Countries" - Ralph Bellas, K9ZO
Country entities have come and gone through time. Some have been small outposts of the British Empire in China and North Africa which issued postage stamps and predated ham radio. Other areas combined and formed the countries which we know today. Similarly ham radio entities have existed, then been deleted from the DXCC list. We'll have a look at some of the fascinating places around the world.

11:30am "Desecheo" - Jerry Rosalius, WB9Z
So close and yet so far! The little island of Desecheo is just off the coast of Puerto Rico, but it's been off limits for years and as a result ranked high on the most wanted list. Jerry will tell us what it took to get permission and pull off a first class operation.

12:00pm Lunch
Enjoy the fresh buffet, drinks, and dessert. You won't go hungry!

1:00pm :"VHF Contesting and DXing - Kevin Kaufhold, W9GKA
Kevin can wow us with his analysis of VHF activities, encourage us to get on, and help with those tough station design decisions.

1:30pm "Operating from Fernando de Noronha" - Jim Model, K9PPY
Jim has had the good fortune to operate from an unusual place off the coast of Brazil. It's small, unique, and counts as a separate country entity.

2:00pm "Station Design" - Gary Breed, K9AY
It's all about system design and performance. Gary will lead us down from the antenna into the receiver and highlight items which impact how well a station works.
